Boy, I didn't expect a grass question would start a string. It's been
interesting. Some have suggested that I do not pay proper attention to
previous responses. Truth is, I don't have time to read them every day. I
agree with Charles when he says he does not give his cat grass to throw up.
My cat never throws up hairballs after eating grass. And when she does
barf, she always finds a nice patch of carpet (preferably shag) instead of
linoleum. I only giver her a blade or two at a time so it won't make her
throw up. It's just that she enjoys it so much! When I ask her if she
wants some grass, her eyes practically bulge out of her head. She'll turn
down store-bought treats for a blade of grass!
This cat has shared my home for over 4 years now, and I have given her
outside grass nearly every day without any ill affects. But, I still feel
it's a problem waiting to happen. I have some cat grass growing now. I
plan to give it time and maybe it will broaden. I have used regular grass
seed before, but it was thin even after several weeks. This cat ignores
spider plants, aloe, beef and chicken--but likes sauerkraut (only out of the
can) and adores wide-bladed grass. I don't like to talk behind her tail,
but she is a little weird.
As for my asking for photos, professional shots are nice, but I am really
just looking for ordinary kitty pics. I like "interesting" and candid poses
and backgrounds make no difference. Since I want them for artwork, I can
make necessary changes. All I ask is that half the face is not blacked out
in shadow and the details are clear.
Thanks for the grass answers.

I had a friend like that once.

I seem to remember that several day elapsed between first and second
postings - there is no evidence you ever even looked at the ones in
rec.pets.cats.anecdotes.

I offered you some of mine, but you never acknowledged the offer. I'm
not currently professional but I have been taking pictures for about
55 years and use very good equipment - I use copyrights to restrict
what can be done with my pictures. The one of Punkin that I call
"Attitude" would be a challenge to engrave, but probably not suitable.
If you want cute snapshots, try "Camouflage" on the cat's home page at
<http://gearbox.maem.umr.edu/tdavis/cats/index.html>, the next to
bottom one on

a picture of two cats eating watermelon at

So what, Mr. Prosecutor?

There is one thing that some people do that is worse than
multi-posting, and that is not going back to every single one of the
groups multi-posted to, reading the replies, and at least
acknowledging them.

My dear Ted,
My postings have been ignored before--life goes on. I ignored yours because
you have been complaining from the beginning. Don't be so petty.

Multi-posting is a usenet sin - if I hadn't corrected you, someone
else would have. Some people aren't nearly as nice about it as I am.

OK Ted,
I apologize. If ignorance is any defense, I know slightly more than
nothing about newsgroup protocol. However, from what I have seen parusing
the other groups, the extent of my sin was extremely minor.
