Many cats resist eating strange food - if they have been fed the same
thing for a long time, they may refuse to eat at all if you suddenly
change the food.  Many food labels tell you to start switching them by
mixinf a littel of the new with the old and gradually increasing the
percentage of new until they are eating only the new.  Most of my cats
have spent some time scrounging for whatever they could find, so they
will eat almost anything that reminds them of meat, including used
meat packaging.

My 2 "girls" both eat IAMS and
even though it may cost a little
more, not as much is eaten.
To begin with, you should mix
IAMS with their regular food,
a certain more of the new food
at each feeding. I don't know
if you know this or not, but
they won't use the litterbox as
much for{you know} because
it's supposed to have better
ingrediants like Science Diet,
etc. and it helps clean thei
little teeth.
