Daughter was so devastated about the loss of Tom that we went to the shelter
today and picked up a new boy: A six month old tux that looks like Tom.
He spent most of the day lying in the litter box (hope he'll soon learn what
it's really meant for...). Now he's sleeping under the bed. I must give a
lot of praise to Eva, the Jack Russell dog. She just greeted the new arrival
and left him alone. Now we're looking for a name for little tomcat. Has
anybody got any information about "Morley"? It's a boy's name isn't it?
Sorry, as you all may know by now, I'm not a native English speaker. (An
English teacher though ... <blush>).

I'm glad you were able to help another little guy needing a home.

On my Catpage there are lists of everyone who posts to the various Cat
Newsgroups [except people who have not given me their details, of
course]. There are a few hundred of them, and there are over 1000 names
of cats there. See
http://blakjak.com/hpcop_ad.htm
You could try looking at Dave Ratcliffe's Catnames List, with over
6000 names. See
http://www.microserve.com/~dave/catnames.html
Flippy has a list of cat names on her site, provided by people on the
newsgroups, with over 3500 names. See
http://www.flippyscatpage.com/catnames.html
There is a site called "Get a Random Cat Name" and that does just
that, with the name changing every few seconds. Why not visit? See

Morley is a family name, so if used for a personal name, it would most
often be given to a male.
However, I would suggest Tux as a name for such a cat, except being
one sylabal it's hard to yell when call ing the cat.
Fleagor is an interesting name that people inquire about, but it
doesn't translate well, being a play on "Igor with fleas". As far as
I have been able to find out, I currently have the only real cat with
that name.
