We have a cat about 9 yrs old who recently refuses to use
the kitty litter box. This has been going on for about 3 months.
We have 3 cats but only 2 litter boxes. Think maybe another
litter box would help. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Think about it! Would you like
someone watching you do your
business? Like us, cats have
different personality's and while
some of us wouldn't really Mind not
having privacy, some of us would. I believe another litter
box is an excellant idea. That
way kitty can have privacy!
If just a litter box with no hood
doesn't work, maybe one with
a hood might be just what kitty
wants. If all this fails, maybe it's
a case of something medically
wrong, VET TIME!!!!!!!-----Perky1

A vet check and urinalysis couldn't hurt either. George had and has
litter box problems when he gets very stressed out as well (ie. h0p has a
seizure and comes home yeowling and wal;king around drunkenly). The
placement of another litter box in the part of the house where he likes to
hang out helped alot. We put it exactly where he was having his "misses."

With three cats, you should have four litter boxes. I have three boxes
for two cats and always scoop the boxes as soon as I see they have been
used.

I use a self-cleaning litter maid...just one for three cats...
so far no problems

Are those self-cleaning things worth the money? We have 7 cats, and have
been thinking about getting a few of the self-cleaning litter boxes. We're
just not sure if they're worth the money.

My opinion? Yes very much...
the first one I had unfortunately lasted only a year with just one
cat...but since then they have improved the motors..
the one I have now I have had for 4 1/2 years (three of those years with
just one cat...then I added a second cat a year and a half ago...and
now have new kitten as well...It still is running fine)
I re-use the plastic container until they really start to deterorate and
break) and then replace them
It helps cut down on the smell and looks cleaner (I have the tent with it)
with the one cat I was emptying it once a week
with two cats twice a week
now about three times a week
With seven cats Im not sure if just two would do it...I would probably
go with three....
But If "I"had 7 cats would "I" get them?
YES I would not hestitate.....I have been that pleased since they
improved the motors...
Still only my opinion though
