Would like to request prayers and purrs for my ex's 17 year old cat
named Moses.  He has not been to a vet since he was nuetered as a
kitten and I have to admit he has been in good health (As far as I can
tell from being around him).  The last few months he has stopped
grooming himself, become real picky as to what he eats, lost weight
'til he is bones and has become moody and wants to be left alone.

I made an appointment to take him to my vet tomorrow (Wednesday) to
see what is going on.  I pray that it is something that can be handled
with medication and not that he is getting old and will need to be put
down.  After all these year I do not know if either one of us could do
that.

Please keep him in your prayer.

NOTE ON RASCAL'S INFECTION AFTER SPAYING:

She goes later today to have her incision checked to make sure it is
okay since it is a week 'til she has her sutures out. (She is a little
girl)

Took Moses in on the Wednesday the 12th of November and he was
severely (SP) dehydrated so they gave him fluid under the skin and he
has a blader infection so he is on antibiotics for that plus the xrays
showed nothing wrong there.  His heart and stomach were "right size".

They took blood and whatever else they did and are sending it to the
lab or whatever at the University of Michigan vet lab for running /
testing (I live in Michigan) and Dr. Tina (The vet) said it will take
10 to 14 days to get the results back.

Please continue to keep Moses in your prayer and purrs please.

By the way Dr. Tina showed me how to check to see if a cat is
dehydrated.  You lift their skin on the back of the neck like you were
going to pick up a kitten and let it go.  If it stays up or takes a
while to settle back they are dehydrated.  I tryed it on the rest of
my babies and the skin on all of them settles back as soon as I let go
of it.

Cats like people should see the doctor once a year.

Had to take Moses back in Friday the 14th because he threw everything
backup that he was eating BUT HE DID GAIN HALF A POUND IN THAT
TIME!!!!  Thank the good Lord.

Dr. Tina, his vet, put him on Metoclopramide along with the
antibiotic to help him keep his food down and he ate a couple
tablespoons of cooked hamburger, a slice of chicken / turkey bologna
and about 1/4 can of 9 Lives tuna and shrimp over the course of 2 to 3
hours (About 6 PM) which is great for the way he was eating and as of
10 AM the next morning he had not brought any of it back up yet and my
ex (His owner who was leaning towards putting him down) said that he
is acting better and that he is still eating good this AM.

Taken from http://www.petcarerx.com  = Metoclopramide has been used
clinically for gastric stasis disorders, gastroesophageal reflux, to
allow intubation of the small intestine. FDA APPROVED

As for other results from tests they did in their office he has a
slight liver enyme elevation which Dr. Tina say is usually associated
with hyper thyroid.  His kidneys are normal and he is not diabetic.
Again thanks to the good Lord.  We are still waiting for detailed
results from the University of Michigan vet department for more
detailed test results.

Please continue to keep Moses in your prayers.  Thanks very much.
