Cleaning cat butt

Hi,

I have two white adult cats, a male and a female with short fur.
However, the male does not clean his butt completely.    Is there a trick to
have him do the job properly?  I have tried to clean it but he does not like
me doing it.  I am thinking of simply spraying water there in hope that he
will clean it himself but I do not like that much the idea because I used
the spray previously to teach him not to bite me.  Does anybody have tried
the spraying of water method?  Any other suggestion?

              Thanks,

                       Richard

I laughed until I hurt, but seriously I have an adult
white cat and I have to keep
her private areas cut down,
or she tends to not clean there.
The vet said she might get
hairballs when she tried to
lick, so she tries to avoid
getting sick with all the hair.
Hope you and your companion
can work things out!--Perky1

If all else fails, Kleenex and Pampers makel moistened baby wipes.

It doesn't happen that much to our cat but when we do clean him I hold him
with his rear end out & hold his tail up & my wife uses an old rag moistened
in warm water.  Once clean we trim the long fur back a little so it doesn't
happen to often.

We use pet wipes, for occasion like that, for example one of my cats was
playing and landed in my ice cream. Those pet wipes come in handy for things
like that or you can just use a good clean damp rag.

Our Kitty is not to good on cleaning that area too, so sometimes
I lightly spray her bum with water. She then begins to lick the water off,
and cleaning herself at the
same time, seems to work. I'd hate for her to get in the habit of letting us
clean her butt for her.

Use a gas or electric power washer, set at 700-900 PSI, using the fine line
tip.  Works great!  Can clean them up slick as a whistle from 15-20 feet away.

Now you sound like someone that I'd like to see disappear.  Yes, I hope it
will be like you said ..."never to return".  I will not even say goodbye as
I further hope you are already gone whereas you will not see my goodbye.
