At the local none kill shelter I saw a beautiful male Flame Point Siamese.
But we had 12 cats already so I just wished him the best.
Next month he was still there. The following month he was still there.
Talked with the attendent and was told he had been adopted and returned. The
people said said he was very aggressive and didn't like other cats. So they
had been warning everyone that looked at him about this.
That broke my heart and so we brought him home. He is 1 year old, neutered
and has all his shots, been wormed and Frontlined. He isn't aggressive he
just is scared being in a new surrounding. After 4 days he has his favorites
and they run around the house and play together.
Makes me wonder how many other cats are misunderstood and considered damaged
goods.
Just like with people a little love and patience goes a long ways.

Oh, I am so glad you adopted this cat. I agree with you in wondering about
how many cats are misunderstood and rejected when they would make perfectly
fine pets. My Duffy was returned to the shelter and was there for several
months. He is absolutely wonderful but is also blind -- probably one of the
reasons he stayed there for so long without being adopted. On the other
hand, I must give lots of extra credit to the people at the shelter. It is
a kill shelter and they normally only keep animals for 2 weeks, then they
are euthanized to make room for others. So it is obvious that they did all
they could to keep Duffy alive.
You have done a wonderful deed by adopting your new cat. I am sure he will
bring you as muc pleasure and you give him. As you said, a little love and
patience goes a long ways.

Wonderful story. There is something caring about adopting cats.

It is very nice of you to have taken that cat. I wish I could do the same
but my place is not big enough for more cats.
Bye,
Richard

I'm in a one bedroom and we have 7 cats. There have been no problems with
fights over territory or anything. Everyone has their own "spot" that is
theirs and theirs alone. It's a bit crazy at times, but i couldn't imaging
not having them.
