A question for the pet experts out there:
how does a dog "explode" and be covered with
blood?
This comes up because there is a woman who
is opening some stores for a line of dog
clothes, clothes that come from her
dog which apparently died last August.
Well it seems the dog died and was
replaced by another dog.
The story they would have us believe is
that the dog "exploded" and was covered with
blood. Is this even possible?

A really bad abscess could rupture giving the
impression of "exploding" but you would
have to be a really neglectful owner (or
maybe blind) not to notice it and have it
treated before it got that bad.
I watch animal planet...a lot...and last
night on Animal Cops they showed a
horse in Texas that had a hole in it's neck.
Not a little hole...a big ol gap below the ridge..
big enough to put your hand thru. It was
completely healed. The "theory" is it was
really young when it happened and perhaps
an abscess burst, leaving the hole that just healed
over and grew larger as the horse grew larger. I
still can't fathom it and if anyone told me a horse
could have a condition like that (and be perfectly
healthy..even ridable) I would have laughed.

That was posted in the Yorkshire Terrier group. The lady was Cindy Adams
a well known columnist. We had Yorkies for 37 year and when we lost the
last one, three years ago, at almost 14, we said no more pets. The a little
over a year ago someone gave my partner a little kitten that I now call, "the
cat from hell." Actually she is a good cat, but I was never a cat person and
am going through a learning thing
