I'm pleased to announce the adoption of our 4th cat, Domino.  He's a
short-haired adult male, white with black spots and absolutely
handsome!  We adopted him Friday from the Humane Society and couldn't
be more pleased with how he fitting in at home especially with our 3
current cats.  There has been a bit of hissing going on, but for the
most part our other 3 cats are doing well with the new stranger.

Domino has already been spotted on Kitty-Cam: http://www.kittycam.net/

please keep us updated. I would love to get another but have been warned
that when you go beyond 3 cats you really start getting into dominance
issues.

Thus far I have 3,,,, Rhythmn(3 y/o), Blues (5 y/o) and Harmony (3
months)...I would really love  get a forth, but not sure if dominance
would be a huge problem

Where did you hear that?  We have 7 (yes, we're crazy) and there haven't
been any major problems.  Just the occasional fight when one wants a spot
that is currently occupied, but nothing major.  Usually one or both decide
the spot isn't worth fighting over and go their seperate ways.

I think so too, Nikki. I think the "limit" should be only how many cats a
person is capable, physically and financially, of caring for. The cats
themselves just seem to work things out eventually.

I agree... I think the number of cats suitable for a household depends
on the household itself.  For example, out house is small so I feel 4
and MAYBE 5 is our capacity.  We both work full time so we can afford
the luxery of multiple cats.  Also, I am very cognizant of house the
house looks and smells and therefore keep on top of messes made by
both us two humans and the cats.

Oh, and we have discussed house shopping!
