Hi there
I've had my cat, Pc now for 2 years, she came from a rescue home. She'd
been taken there by a lady beacause she had a skin complaint on her neck
under her chin and the vets bills had become too much, so I agreed to take
her home. Pc was at the rescure centre for 7 months and in that time she
had many visits to the vets hence the name Pc, practice cat! The vets tried
all sorts to find out what was causing her neck to weep and bleed constantly
and in the end they called it idiopathic, meaning thay didn't know what it
was. Then they tried her on neoral tablets which did the trick and cleared
her neck up. The downside is it's not a cure. If she stops taking them, the
skin becomes all bloody again and they're quite expensive. Whats more, It
can't be good for her to have to constantly take tablets for the rest of her
little life. Has anyone heard of anything like this before or can shed any
light on what may be causing it I would be very grateful.
Thanks
Lucy

Once again I am wondering about contact allergies! Does she wear a collar? Tags? What kind of
material does she sleep on? What kind of food dish -- plastic - metal - pottery? Tracking
allergies requires real detective work. Are you able to restrict her scratching it? Then again it
could be food related. Good luck!

The trouble with skin problems are MANY of them are idiopathic and very
often don't respond to any meds. I'd say it's good to find a med that works.
It seems to me the quality of life is more important at this point. I must
say, I have not heard of this med. What are the side effects supposed to be?
