How well do you know your neighbours?
You could ask them not too put food out for the stray, and explain your
concerns?

The poor thing probably wants food, attention and maybe a kind word or two.
Your cats and the stray may be starting to forge some sort of friendship.
Don't "vanquish" her....she may just go away on her own as some strays do. I
doubt she means you or your cats any harm.
