Margie, my year and a half old female baby always used to meet me at
door, jump on bed at night, sleep on frig, run with the others, and
get on computer desk when I was on then all of a sudden she just
wanted to hang out and lay on the floor and tryed to stay in out of
the way places.  If I went to check on her she would meow at me in a
sad sounding (To me) way and still liked to snuzzle (Me rubbing my
face on her and her giving me kisses) as long as I got down to her.  I
am gone most of the day and just figured she was tired from romping
all days.

On the third day when I came home she was going to come to me but when
she did she, she walked with her back all hunched like it hurt.  When
she set she always held one front paw up (Not always the same one).
To watch the other play she would pull herself around on the floor so
she could see them but would not get up or try to join them.  She
stays on the floor and if she wants up she just sets and looks until I
help her.  She also had a slight fever.  She acts like it is all she
can do to get from the arm of the sofa down to the cuchion.

I took her to animal emergency and they did a complete blood work up
and everything checked ok.  They also took x-rays from top and side
and they showed no problems.  The only thing is that the x-rays did
not show the front legs (They did not include the for some reason).
They said it was most likely a "soft tissue" injury from jumping.
They put some fluids under her skin and gave her an antibiotic and
told me to keep her from running, jumping, etc.

The next day I took her to my vet along with all the results from
emergency and she had a fever again so she put her on Clavamox and
PredniSlone Liquid for fever and pain for 5 days but still no x-rays
of front legs.

It breaks my hearts to she her like this.  She does move around a
little more now that she is on this medication but she still stays on
the floor unless I help he up / down and walks with her back still
slightly hunched up.  When I use the bathroom they used to jump in the
tub and lay on a blanket I kept in they for them. Now she just sets
there and looks at the tub then me as if asking me to help her in.

I am at a lost.  The blood tests and the x-rays they took all show
nothing life threathening.  Also I am retired living on a fixed income
and have put out over one thousand dollars the last week or so on my
babies but can not keep this up as much as I want to.  Hopefully it is
a soft tissue injury and will get better.  Any sensible suggestions?

Give her light, (very light) massages, nothing more really
than just rubbing the skin.  This will help with the
circulation as long as she isn't moving.
Also, when you do pet or rub her, picture all the
energy from around you welling up like to balls
of light in your hands and project them into her
muscles.  I know it sounds silly and perhaps it
is but as long as you aren't massaging so hard you
are re-damaging the tissue it can't hurt and it will
make you both feel better.   I am sure the vet told
you if you don't see some improvement to call him/her....
and if they are anything like my vet they will probably call
and check up anyway.  keep the faith

I wouldn't do that until you have more a more definitive
diagnosis.  Even light massage may be aggravating what
may already be a very sore part of the body.

You've never sprained an ankle have you where the
slightest touch was enough to cause excrutiating
pain have you?  .I've learned that the hard way.

Yes I have.  He said it was a soft tissue injury.
The longer you "rest" your muscles the longer it
takes for them to regain their strength.  My dog
had a soft tissue injury to her rear hind quarters and
the doc actually suggested light massages. You can
always check with the vet first, probably a good idea
anyway incase there is a skeletal problem.
And if it doesn't feel good chances are the cat won't
sit still for it anyway.

Just let the cat tell you what it likes.
If it likes a gentle massage, fine, if not, leave it.

The first thing I would do is insist on x-rays of the front
legs.   Something sounds wrong and I would start with
the front legs.   Where you've already seen two vets
the next logical stop is the fron legs.

It just looks like she hurt all over when she walks - not mecessarily
more in front or the back.

She drinks fine and eats as usual.  When I first took her to emergency
they gave her some fluid under the skin as a precautiom I guess plus
an antibiotic.

I try to rub / pet her gently when she lets me but she has never been
a "petty" cat if you know what I mean.  A couple strokes then she
moves just far enough away where I can not reach her.  :-)

It has been 6 days now since it started and 3 days since she has been
on her meds and last night she woke me twice through the night by
setting on my pillow licking my face and wanting to "snuzzle".  You
will never know how great that made me feel.  Like an idiot I got
tears in my eyes!!

Now I need pain med after trying to get hers into her mouth, if you
know what I mean!!  :-)

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts.  God bless.
