I don't have anything from this company, but I have a 4 foot high cylindar
from the pet store.  My 5 pound kitten can make it wobble.  If she were to
gain weight, she could probably knock it over.  I may have to add a base to
it or tie it to the couch.  Any suggestions?

Mine have a small playcenter on 3 levels, and the base is really just
50*50*5cm peace of I think MDF(or similar) covered with carpet. You could
nail one on the bottom of the cylindar.

I have a similar toy for them, with three levels.  It however "wedges"
itself to the cealing via a screw in pole which can be lowered or
heightened.  it is still a little shaky though, and the one I bought for my
mum cracked her ceiling and came a tumbling down :)  Her ceiling is nasty
plasterboard (like ours!).

They are worth it, but I suggest attaching it to a wall as well as the
ceiling if possible.

Wow. That *is* a neat play center. $500 is kinda steep though, and shipping
would be expensive. I bet you could make ityourself for less than $100.

Wow didn't see the price.  I would pay maybe ?150 here in the UK for such a
thing, but not much more...

Wow! that's something special!

My cat cubs have a tree, which is 9 feet tall, and has pillars to climb,
holes to go up through the middle, a platform at the top and a hidey-hole
with sheepskin around it, and they love it and spend a lot of time on it -
mostly on the top platform, being Lords and Masters of all they survey!

Did anyone see the one that the father on "Malcolm in the Middle"
'built' a few episodes ago  (11/21/04)?

It made the one in the link earlier in this thread look simple.

Anyway, he built it so he could convince his wife to get a cat.  She
didn't go for it, and he couldn't get the garbageman to haul it off.

When I got my cat, someone told me those were a waste of money because
his cat and other people's he knew ignored them.

I think they're a waste of money because I should be able to build
something as good for much less money.

I did buy her a nice ~$25 scratching post which she does use, but the
$15 soft 'kitty cube' I got at Wal-Mart doesn't interest her.  She seems
to tend towards 'the best things in life are free' philosophy - boxes
I've picked up at Sam's Club, shoelaces, crumpled up cigarette packs and
lighters (which count as free because I didn't buy them for her) seem to
be some of her favorite things.

Although she really digs the $3.99 (close enough to free) rug I got at
PetCo tonite.  I put it on my desk when I got home, intending to place
it next to her litter box, but she loves sitting on the desk, and now
she's curled up on it sleeping.

I think I'm just going to have to have a partially carpeted desktop.

I have three cats, and they love it.  The spend a lot of tiem chasing each
other, and it is terrific watching the three of them clambering to the top
as quickly as possible.  Tigger normally gets up first, but there has been a
few occassions when the new kitten beats him!.

This place has a substantial variety of cat furniture, and the prices seem
reasonable. I haven't bought anything there, so I can't vouch for them. But
it looks cool. They have several pages; here are the trees and the gyms:
