ive literally tried everything i can think of, but the damn fleas still wont
go away. ive tried putting tide on my carpet to kill the eggs, i vacume 2
times a day, im resorting to bathing my kats in flea shampoo every 2 days to
keep their scratching down, yet the fleas remain. my kats are strictly
indoor kats, so i have no idea how they contracted them. ive tried Boi-Spot,
zodiac, advantage, and a few other no-name brands (NO HARTZ) of flea
killers, yet the blasted things remain! im even starting to add vinegar to
my kats water in an effort to sour up their blood (i drink vinegar water and
i never get bitten by mosquitos). can anyone think of ANYTHING that would
help me rid my apt of fleas? thanks a million!

Have you tried *"prescription"* flea killers, such as frontline or
advantage???? You buy them from your vet. I use frontline plus that I buy
online from dr.s Foster & Smith. Frontline Plus kills fleas (at least it
does on mine), and flea larvea, and supposedly prevents flea eggs from
hatching.
In addition to using the drops on your cat, vacate house of all humans &
pets, and use a 'flea fogger' to help eliminate fleas in the home. Also
treat pet sleeping areas with a spray and wash in *HOT* water, with bleach
if possible. Mos pet beds are washable in the machine, and those that
aren't usually have stuffing that is treated with pesticides to help
eliminated parasites.

advantage was used, was one of the first 'harder' flea meds i used. im going
to get this spray my vet tech gfs friend said she used (shes a vet tech
also) that she used to treat her house, then she used bio-spot on her cats
and she has no flea issue. i will steam the entire apt, cant use bleach tho,
and hope that helps.

Also try those small flea traps that use a low watt bulb and sticky
paper. Buy a couple and place them aroun the house. The light and
heat of the bulb will attract them and they jump on a grill where
they fall thru to the sticky paper below. I use them and they are
quite effective, more than you would think.
This is suggested to be used in conjunction with other means of attack.

You may be being re infested from another apartment. You need to treat
aggressively for a number of months.
The best site I know for information is here:
http://www.vetmed.iastate.edu/services/vth/clinical/derm/flea/fleaold.html
In addition to treating the apartment, you need to put your cats on
Program ( lufenuron) every month to keep flea eggs from hatching and on
Advantage or Frontline at the same time to kill the adult fleas. Once
you have things under control, a regular dose of Program will make any
new flea eggs sterile before a new infestation can get a head start.
It's not very expensive, particularly if you buy the large dog tablets
to split between several cats.
