Cat twitching question

My Husband and I have a lovely, short haired, domestic, indoor only cat that
will be turning 5 years old in February.
She has been spayed, and never misses her annual check-up.

about a year and a half ago we noticed that she would lay on her back in the
middle of the "traffic flow area" of our living room/connected dining room.
she will lay there and her front and back legs will just twitch; sometimes
violently. Sometimes she is wide awake looking up at the ceiling, sometimes
she is fast asleep, or dozing off.. More often then not it will only be the
right front and back legs that will twitch, though it is not limited to only
the right side.

what do you think is causing her behavior? is this something that I should
be concerned with?

It sounds sort of like she might be having a seizure of sorts.  When
is she due for her annual check up?  Might want to move it up a bit,
and ask the vet about it.

Just curious, have you not spoken with your vet about this in the past year
and a half? As bonbon said, it sounds like your cat is having seizures, and
these should not be ignored!

If this happened even to my cat I'd be on the phone to the vet immediately
after. I wouldn't wait a year and a half to pop the question in a ng. But,
that's just me.

Best wishes to you and your cat!

Judy
