Is flea powder made of pyrethrum flowers at all harmful to young
kittens(3 months)?

We are using Advantage 9, but the fleas re-appeared after 3 weeks &
the next dose isn't scheduled until 4 weeks.

thanks

Frontline costs about the same as Advantage and does keep the fleas
down for the entire month - some people say it's good for three months
for fleas, but I have a tick problem and it's only good for one month
for ticks.

Don't ever use over the counter flea remedies on cats. They are not
safe. Stick to prescription medications.
For kittens you can always bathe them with a little mild soap. It kills
the flies instantly.

I just had a little one covered in fleas, they gave it a bath with dawn, and
all the fleas were still alive and kicking.  They manually picked about 50
more off her, then I found several more at the house.  I use frontline for
flea issues.  It is safe to use even on very young cats (this one was five
weeks)  you just don't use the full dose.

I would highly recommend you use the advantage earlier than trying to use a
secondary way to kill the fleas.  two different toxins wouldn't be my first
choice

I've found Dawn slows the fleas down, maybe even makes them jump off, butyou
still have to "pick and squish".  I've just never seen it actually kill them.
I usually use the Frontline spray on a comb, then comb the fleas, with good
deal of "pick and squish" also. That's only if the kittens are very, very tiny.
