Do your cats like to help you?
When I removed heavy branches in the garden Micky carried one leaf in his
mouth and followed me, it was too cute!
Cinderella likes to help in the kitchen. When I peel potatoes or wash salad
she fishes it out of the water.
But the best was when I hung up the washing last week: she jumped onto the
washing lines, attacking my hands when I put the washing up. And she
destroyed a clothes peg...

Mine don't help, they just supervise.  Like most supervisors, that means
interfering with work in progress, sometimes putting themselves in
danger in the process.

I love it!  My Sammy holds my books open with his paw while I study!

Oh, let me count the ways:

Making beds involves much hiding under the bedclothing and jumping out
and killing of the blanketmonster.

Laundry - cats in the baskets, cats in the dryer, cats trying to get
in the washer.

Dishes - cats in the dishwasher, cats playing in the water from the
faucet, cats playing 'fish the spoon out of the soapy water'

Vacuuming - Death to the vacuum monster

Sweeping - Death to the broom monster

Writing - Death to the pen monster

Cooking - "Mooooooooom!  Can we have some?"  Removing cats from the
pantry, the refrigerator, the cabinets, and from the counters.
Occasionally catching cats in midair as they try to leap to the
worksurface and steal some raw meat.

Answering the door - The household welcoming committee.  Each guest
must be sniffed, extorted for petting, and when they take their coats
off each coat must be lay upon.

Repairpeople - Cats in their tools, cats jumping into their laps, cats
playing with debris.

And the two adults are teaching the kitten to do the same.  *sigh*

These two things sound like my Shamrock. He has to have his nose into
everything, everyone who doesn't "belong" here, discover who likes
cats, and even better, who doesn't, so he can bug them to death with
headbutts and trying to get on their lap.

My current bunch avoids company, but Cherokee used to barge in and lay on top
of their purse.

One thing my Marco does that always cracks me up is when I try to look
under the furniture for something.  Whenever he sees me doing that he
comes over and squats down beside me and peers  under the furniture just
like I'm doing (especially if I'm looking for one of the cat toys he
knocked under the bureau).  It cracks me up because it is perfecct
communication between species, he knows exactly what I'm doing and comes
over to join in.  This is one of the very rare times when you know for
sure what a cat is doing and why.
