Cats tend to hide in a "safe" place if they are not feeling well.
When you see the third eye the first thing to suspect is an eye
infection which a vet should look at pronto.

I agree with you, that's also what my smart cat book says.
But should there not also tears flow out of the eye?
The cat book says that if it's one eye only, it may well be hurt or
something is inside it, irritating.
If it's both eyes, then it could be an eye infection that can be treated
well by the owner with boric water, fennel tea or camomile.
I don't think he has that though. Last night he played so rough with Cindy
in my daughter's bed, that the two of them were shut out <grin>.
I'm so glad he's better!

The bottom line is take the cat to the vet. The eyesight you save
may be your cats.
I would not try to treat or diagnose this myself. You need a vet.
I cringe when I hear someone trying to do this by themselves.
Ulnless your graduated Vet school don't try it. Take this from
someone who had their own share of eye problems over the
years.

Just to make this clear: Micky is perfectly well now, eating like a horse.
I think he had an upset tummy, he vomited, and since then he's fine; why the
eyes were abnormal, I don't know, but they are clear and normal now.
I just quoted from the book. But thank you for your concern.

Glad to hear.
