Hi,
My sweet kitty Bella is such a lovey kitty. Every night she sleeps curled
up next to me, but when morning comes she starts what sounds like smacking.
Like she's trying to lick the top of her mouth or something. She has been
doing this for some time now. I used to think she was hungry, then was
thirsty, tried accommodating both. It wasn't either.
I was just wondering if any of you have smackers. Any remedies?
Thanks-

Gee, don't we have nice people in this group. Jackee, I've never seen or
heard of this; perhaps it's just a peculiarity of Bella's - cats have plenty
of 'em. I hate to say it, but maybe you ought to consult a vet, just to be
on the safe side. Could you give him/her a call, and see what they say?

If you have the heat or AC running it will dry the air this is Bella's
way to get her mouth moist again.

Could be an infected gum or tooth problem. Does Bella have foul
breath? Reddened gums? Tarter build up on her teeth? Check out her
mouth, if anything seems wrong, definitely take her to the vet.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to call the vets office anyway, and tell
them what she is doing. They'll tell you whether or not you should
bring her in for a look.

Yeah, call the vet. Then call me. I'll bury the poor thing up to her
neck with her head sticking out of the ground, and run her over with
my lawnmower.
Vrooooommmm!!
