Jack my tomcat has become very hyper lately. Which isn't necessarily a
problem. The only thing is aside from just running through the house he gets
on top of things and into things that he shouldn't be. Our other cats we
taught the word NO with a water gun but unfortunately Jack is a water cat
and loves to jump in the bath tub so a squirt gun just isn't working. Any
ideas how I can get him to start minding me when i tell him no?

How old is he?
Mine don't like clapping hands and "schschsch".

Jack is about 7 months old. And this hyper activity just really started.
Before there wasn't much he did that I had to tell him no to. And if I clap
my hands he does the "kitty glare" and continues to do what ever he was
doing..

At 7 months he is becoming a typical teenager.  The only advice I have
is for you to be patient with him, and pray that he'll outgrow it.

You didn't mention if Jack was neutered.  If not, he has reached sexual
maturity and has other things on his mind than what you want.
If you haven't already, you may want to consider having him neutered.

Then it's probably normal teenager stuff.  Give him a chance
to settle down.
Be sure to reward him mightily with favorite rubs or treats
when he does mind.  The squirt gun thing works because
cats don't like to be startled, not so much because they are
afraid of water...so you might experiment to see what does
startle him.  If it's a shelf or counter he is jumping on, set up
a stack of metal lids so that he knocks them over when he
jumps up there..or find a whistle that will bother him (just be
careful you don't freak out your other cats).  Or..just be
patient.  He will probably grow out of this phase in a few
months.
