I have a 10 year old cat who won't let me sit down that she's not in my
lap. If I'm reading the paper in the kitchen in the morning she'll jump
in the chair beside me.  She won't jump into my wife's lap (which hurts
my wife's feelings) unless I'm out of  town.
I'm not complaining because we have another cat, 3 years old, who hardly
pays attention to either one of us.
Just wondering.

I love lap cats. I had one once. Both my cats love me in their own way. One
follows me around and insists on having me rub his tummy 23 hours a day..the
other one sleeps with me. I know they both love me. :-)

Thats like Wilson I'm always telling him "I know you love me so dont pretend
otherwise" he follows me around the house constantly, if he loses sight of
me I see him looking in the different rooms till he finds me,but when I try
to get too close to him for a cuddle, he pulls away or jumps down if he's on
my little table,
sometimes I bend down to pick him up when he seemsas though he'll accept
that, only to find myself trying to pick up an empty space, how does he
escape so quickly?   Jean.P.

My Tigger was like that. I couldn't sit down without her jumping in my lap.
She can't jump up in my lap any more because of her arthritis. :o(

She has bonded to you.

My husband did most of the bottlefeeding for our orphaned kittens,
since I was on military service at the time and only home on
occasional weekends while he was in the house all the time working on
his master's degree.  Over a year later those kittens still recognize
him as their "mother."

My husband was frustrated when our first cat, Nocturne, preferred me
over him.  I told him to start giving her kitty treats.  Within a week
she liked him too ;)

Our ex-feral, Smokey, is the worst lapfungus of all four, since he is
ever so grateful to us for giving him a home and food, he needs to be
reassured every day that we still love him and will continue to give
him a home and food.  He's all over EVERYONE who comes in, even
strangers.
