he had an urinary impaction and due to the fact that i don't have 800$ to pay
my own rent, let alone pay for surgery on MYSELF or a cat, we had to put him to
sleep.

i am MISERABLE.

I am sorry to hear of this. My condolences. When you get back on your feet and
can open your heart to another cat and come up against this money problem...can
you find a vet who works with a payment plan? use a charge card? sell anything
in your posession? get a job or 2nd job? Borrow from family? You didn't
mention a disability.

my situation is that i am a single mother in college with two jobs, one of
which is a waitressing job and the other is a teaching position at a martial
arts school in the evenings, but it doesn't pay well, it IS my future career
goal, though. we have no family, the two of us, and we've already sold
everything of value just to pay the rent. we are as close to bottom line as we
can get, my kiddo and i. things will get better once i graduate, but that's
going to be a few years.

I am so sorry. I know this is a reality of life. Luckily there
are some vets and some organizations that are trying to help
when they can. I've seen vets donate their time and groups
like actors and others for animals stepping in to help with
costs. Unfortunately it isn't as wide spread and too many
people have to make this hard decision. God Bless you
for trying and try not to feel too bad about it. If you ever
get in a position to adopt another animal...think about
vet insurance. After the expense of my dog I know I will.
