I have a 8 year old nurtured cat. He seams to have lost his appetite for
cat food. He likes to eat grass, Is this a problem?

Yes, take him to the vet. Lots of cats will eat grass for
the cholor something or other :-) but if your cat has
stopped eating then there is something wrong.

No, but a sign that there's an upset tummy.
What sort of cat food are you feeding?
I'd recommend premium dry and wet whatever he likes.
(My cats want jelly or sauce, and it has to be straight out of the
packet/tin.)

for most animals, grass is a purgative.

Eating grass is normal ... or at least usually is. Not eating cat
food is a problem unless the cat is catching its own meals.

He may be sick.
Some cats eat grass to aid digestion or to help them if they're ill.
Have a vet check him out to find out what may be wrong.

I agree cats like to eat grass to help in digestion or if there stomach is
upset. If that's all he's eating there is something wrong. Take him to a
vet.

If you're nurturing him, he should be happy!
If he's not eating, he needs to go (quickly) for a visit to the vet,
especially if he's losing weight.
Eating grass is a normal cat-behaviour.
