Maybe. When has he last seen another cat? Has he been alone for 7 years?
Kittens are usually accepted rather easily. The resident cat might be a
little offended at first and will certainly let the kitten know where
its place in the home is (lowest), but the kitten will seldom get hurt.

Good question ... got this female kitten, 4 months old. Tom, 1 year,
neutered, accepted her after a week. And now he's spraying my bedroom . It
**stinks!!** It will take your older cat a while, but I think unless it's a
loner it will work out after a gentle introduction. Kittens learn quickly
how to be submissive to the boss.
My question is, is it better to get a young tom with a tom (fighting is
possible) or a female (spraying, see above). Well, in the future I would
take two from the same litter, I think that's the easiest way.

Good luck!
