Do Cat toys really work. Do they contain organic catnip. My cat just ignores
what ever toys I buy and place before him

Nothing is better than the feather wand. Get interactive toys, so you and
your cat can play together.
My cats favored toy other than the feather wand is a doughnut like thing
with a ball inside, a plastic bottlecap, or a wadded up sheet of paper.

My cats favorite toy is the box that the toy came in or the bag it was
brought home in.

The best cat toy i've found is an empty card board box. Of course
the larger the cat the smaller the box it's trying to get into.
They ignore the expensive cat toys and go for the simple card board
box.

Or a sheet of newspaper, that just *must* be hiding something underneath it
that needs to be killed.

Or maybe the cat doesn't like the columnists who write for that paper?
Or maybe the cat doesn't like the editorial position of the newspaper?

any piece of paper, wadded up, makes a great kickball....or tied with a string
& dragged along the floor, something wonderful on which to pounce.

Any origami work. The more difficult and time consuming to fold and
the more expensive the paper, the better.

Mine too. But they like the catnip toys too. And shoelaces. And socks. And wool
gloves. And throw rugs (which they burrow under).

Have you ever tried a mosquito net over the bed? This *is* fun!
Cat hanging on top until net collapses.
Even better: One cat inside, one outside the net, and then the same exercise
all over again...
