The Real Slim Baby - 09 Aug 2004 01:34 GMT
Hi Folks, it's me again and I am extremely worried. My new 8 week old kitty
has diorrea and is has vomited twice. His appetite is fine although I still
can't get him to drink water although it is there if he wants it. I am not
giving him milk anymore. I am going to take him to the vet tomorrow just
incase but is it normal for kittens to be like this? I know it is normal for
babies to have these cases but what about kittens? I am really worried.
Please help. Thanks

Paul.

It is not normal for a kitten to be like this.  The vet is needed.
Good luck.

It may be something else, but to me it sounds like it may be coccidia - an
internal parasite which both my previous can and current had when I brought
them home as kittens. The fact that you're taking him to the vet is a good
idea. Be sure to bring along a stool sample as this will aid the vet in
making a diagnosis.

Best wishes to you and your little one! :c)

I agree with Judy, it could be Coccidia, I just found out a couple of
weeks ago, that my kittens had coccidia, your kittens sound like they
have the same symptoms. Make sure you take a stool sample in and ask the
vet to look for coccidia, I used to work for a vet and finding the
coccidia on the slide isn't as easy as finding round worms and other
worms.
It is fixable, that's the good news.

Good luck and please let us know what your vet says,

Aimee
