I have a cat that I have a  difficult time getting to drink water.  She only
drinks out of the bath tub with running water.  I can fill her water dish
and she wont even touch it.  I bought a cat waterer with the flowing water,
she wouldn't drink from that either.  Any suggestions?

There are two different kinds Fresh Flow & Drinkwell (I have 3 of the
Drinkwell - all of ours love it):

A word of advice - most cats don't take to in right away, so what I did was
set it up right next to their regular water dish, empty for a few days; then
I added water, but didn't turn it on, and slowly let their regular dish run
dry.  Then after a few days of them drinking from the not running fountain,
I turned it on - they shied away at first, but then their curiosity & thirst
got the better of them.  A kitten I raised won't drink from anything BUT one
of the fountains!

Thanks!  I had the fresh flow, didn't work.  The other one you listed
though, the Drinkwell looks like it may be more along the lines of what the
cat would like.  Thanks again!

I have a Drinkwell plus 5 other sources of water in various rooms.  I
VERY rarely see the cats drink.  I feed a canned food that is 78% water
so they don't really need to drink.  I have unplugged the Drinkwell
because about three days after cleaning a foamy suds forms on the water.
It's not worth the bother (and the expense of the filters) for something
they don't use.

Thanks for the post.
I suppose the Drink well might work for the cat.  I just have to bring
myself to fork over that kind of money for it.  I am searching ebay maybe
someone will be selling one.   After I bought the other water and she didn't
use it, well I guess I got a little discouraged about running out to buy
another one.  We'll see :)

I had a cat with the same issue as yours.. She (and the other cats) love the
Drinkwell. Yeah, it's not cheap, but I consider it well worth the money.

Try putting a bowl of water on the bathroom floor. Float a plastic top from
an orange juice bottle, or similar on the water so she can see the water
level.

One of our cat's loves to drink from the dripping bathtub faucet. It's
pretty funny to watch because some goes up his nose and he sneezes and spits
and carry's on but just keeps on drinking. He will drink from the bowl but
he really likes the bathtub.
My friend has a cat that will only drink from a dish in the back yard that
has an ancient pineapple top sitting in the water. I have known him for
almost 4 years and the thing is still in the water, green and fresh to the
touch but does not sprout. The cat will not drink from anything else.
It's one of the stranger things I've seen with cats.

I thought this suggestion was a bit strange.  But the strangest thing is
that it works!!!!!
Thank you so very much for your advice.  I have a happy kitty finally
drinking out of a water bowl.
