Did anyone watch Queer Eye for the  straight guy yesterday?
They had a cat who was clawing the sofa,. the solution?
They found these plastic caps (almost like fingernails) that go
on the end of the claws saving the cat from being declawed
or sent packing.

Yes, I saw it last week. They're called SoftPaws.

I thought about these but wondered if the cats could bite them off and
swallow them, does anyone know about this?
Since we live our cats, the solution thus far has been to get only cheap or
free used furniture. We yell at them when we are home and they stop but what
can you do when your gone or asleep lol.

I have used them. They shed when the claws shed, unless the cat gets
very determined and yanks them off. Either my cats never ate one or
they're nontoxic (and the packaging does claim that they are non-
toxic, FWIW).

As soon as I moved to a place without carpeted floors, my cats
stopped scratching inappropriately and started using their scratching
posts. Once in a blue moon one of them will go at a couch, but for
the most part, they are good with their posts now. Odd.
