My cat had a uninary track infection. Which the vet has finally cleared up.

When he had the infection my cat got blocked up and the vet had to remove
grit from him.  The poor cat was under consider amout of duress/pain when he
had to urinate.  He had accidents on the floor.

Now after the infection has cleared up.  He is still urinating on the floor
and on my son's shoes.  The vet put my cat on a special diet to try yo
prevent him blocking again.  Is my cat angry about thr diet or just stressed
out.  It took about a month to clear up the infection.

We are very worried about what is going on with Tiger.  Any help or
suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Albert

You're positive that he has cleared the infection? If so, it may be
that he's peeing there out of habit now. Have you cleaned the areas
with any enxymatic cleaners?

He was on antibiotics for a long time.  He is not straining when he goes so
I am hoping he is alright.

What is a enenxymatic cleaners?

Thanks

She meant enzymatic cleaners. Try also Feliway after cleaning well.

You might want to have the vet run a urine test.

A typo. :-)

I'm assuming you're feeding him wet food only, right? I'd avoid dry food
if possible.

He was getting both.  The doctor prescibed a special dry food.

After such an incident I'd avoid dry food altogether. Ask the vet that
he/she thinks about it. If he/she says it doesn't matter, get a new vet.

My cat had a kidney infection and was put on a special diet
containing low protein, apparently protein puts stress on their
kidneys. Chicken and fish contains less protein than red meat
and dry food adds need for water. I think if the cat is in pain or
stressed from its illness it can lead to peeing in the wrong
spots.
