Hi I would really welcome any suggestions to my problem! I have just
recently moved to an apart. with my two cats.I have the litter box out on
the deck, that's fine when I am home, I just leave the doors open.
So installed a cat door, so they can go in & out while I am at
work...........Last night (first night of the door) put them both out & went
to bed. Woke up this am, female was on my bed, stupid male was still
outside, every time I put him thru it, he freaks out.....& hides under the
bed.
How can I get him to use it!!!!! HELP! Thanks

You could try sticky taping the door open, and get them used to walking in
and out before making them push the door as well.

I agree with this. I just installed one myself, and the cats had no
idea what it was.
We thought it was cool - they thought it was a trap of some sort. I
ended up taking it out of the door and just leaving the 'hole' where
it should go. After a couple days, with the food and litter boxes on
the other side, they began to understand that it wasn't a bad thing.
It took some coaxing at first, but once they got used to the 'little'
hole, we popped the door on it, and they push their way through.

Don't PUT him through.
With him outside, hold the door open and entice him through with something
nice, i used freshly grilled chicken with my two.
Do this a few times, in and out and he'll learn.

Like a sliding door you mean? there is a special panel you can buy to fit in
it.
