I'm going to be adopting two kittens tomorrow, is it necessary to purchase
two litterboxes?  What about litter, I've heard that the clumping kind can
be bad for kittens.  Any truth to this?

Thanks
Sandi

Hi Sandi,

Congratulations on the new additions! You will have lots of fun together, I'm sure.

The normal recommendation for litter boxes is one each and a spare for good measure. You
can try having just two and see how it goes. You may or may not need the 3rd one.

As to litter, if you are concerned about the clumping litter, then try something like
Yesterday's News. It is rolled up pellets of recycled newspaper. There is no dust and no
tracking, therefore, nothing that the kitties can sniff up their noses.

I have always used the clumping litter myself and had no ill effects with any of my cats.
Everyone has their own preference, so just experiment and see what works best for you and
your new babies.

Lynn
