One of my neighbours is really pis#ed off about the cats spraying near her
windows and it stinks apparently. She is threatening to take matters further
if we don;t do something.
We have a private "communal" gardens which are used not only by residents
few cats but also other neighbours cats, and local foxes. All of the pets,
both residents and neighbours are neutered and spayed, but we do have a few
intact strays around. So few Q:
1. Do foxes spray as well?
2. Is there any spray you an think of that can neutralize the urine smell on
the bricks, bushes and garden wooden fence?
3. Is there a pet repellant spray or something that has only a short range,
as we have to please her, so I thought we'd put it near her windows, but to
still allow local cats, foxes and a dog to roam the garden just not near her
flat.
I am just worried as to what the "further action" means...
Thanks
Gee
(my cats are indoor but they do go out on a leash, and even though
Charlie(neutered) never sprays indoors, he will happily go out, inspect the
bushes and spray them :))

Foxes will spray a foul smelling musk to mark their territory.

You might try using an enzyme liquid that's made to kill the odor in
carpets, etc. You could put it in a garden sprayer.

There's a pet repellant spray in an aerosol can that you can get. I
had some (can't remember the name), but I never tried using it
outside.

Yes. Foxes spray. They also has scent glands that can make it smell much worse
than regular urine.

You would need one of those sprays that has enzymes in it that kill the
offending odors. Of course you'll have to use it every day because that spot
probably gets sprayed daily. They have a large selection of items at petco or
petsmart.

There are spray repellents. Do they work? A little. There is also something
that emits a high frequency sound that will keep some cats away from certain
items. It might not work with the fox.

She might take you to the HOA board and try to get you fined. I wouldn't let
your cat spray there in case she sees you. Just blame it on stray cats and
foxes.
A neighbors cat used to spray my garden box and floor to ceiling window just to
piss my indoor cat off. I tried a bunch of things then finally just planted
jasmine in the box. The urine killed a little of the jasmine but most survived.
I just lived with it.
