The large Energy company that employs my wife is having a food & supplies
drive for local animal shelters. Of course I will contribute big time.
I never give to the "Bicycles for Boys" campaigns, or the "Toys for Tots"
drives because those items are given to ethnic children whose alleged
parents allow them to be destroyed within hours of their being received.
But the food drive for animals is a worthy cause indeed.
I will go to Sam's and Wal-Mart today and load the cargo area of my huge
Ford
Explosion with vitals for the little creatures and then drive to the
drop-off area at the company's complex. My SUV can easily carry 800 pounds
back there.
If no one is available to help me unload, it will give me an opportunity to
display my incredible physique as I deftly handle the 40-pound pails
of cat litter, the cases of canned tuna and the 25-pound sacks of Purina Cat
Chow?, etc, etc.
The opulent life is good.

Great. They want me to donate food to a large energy company that
made record profits last year (seen the price of gas lately?) and
can well afford to donate tons of food and not still continue to make
record profits. Me thinks not.
Besides I don't trust that energy company to turn arond sell the food,
pocket the money and doante none of it to anybody.
Besides I worked one of those "energy" companies years ago
when I was in college and I wouldn't use the name of that company
and honesty and integrity in the same sentence.
I'll donate the food to the save Angel food drive instead.

You have a very narrow, knee-jerk understanding of the word *energy*. It
involves more than gasoline.
But thanks for donating food to the animals in your own way.
My cache' commanded half the allotted floor space. I even bought bleach,
laundry detergent, trash bags and 50 rolls of paper towels to go with the
seven sacks of kitty litter, five sacks of dry food, five cases of canned
food and a super box of cat treats.
The kennel will rock tonight!

Bear in mind i've worked for some of these "energy" companies.
If you look up sleaze in the dictionary you'll find the logos for
these energy companies.
I dare you to name one energy company with integrity.....bet you can't
do it.

I looked up sleaze in the dictionary, and there were no logos for any
company--energy or not. Your hyperbole is juvenile.
Next time you want to wash your hair in warm water or cool off beneath your
air conditioner and there's no power, call Green Peace and complain. Next
time you're freezing cold and you want to warm your toes by the heater and
there' no power, call Ben and Jerry's. Next time you're hungry and the
microwave won't turn on or the gas stove won't light up, go chop down a tree
and cook out.

Note this person couldn't name one energy company with
integirty.......not one single company.
Instead he blames Ben and Jerry.
Around here one of those "energy" campanies spilled ??,000+ galllons
of oil. Did they stick around to clean it up? No. Did they pay for
cleanign it up? No. Were they even honest about how much oil
they spilled? No. .

I hear you and thank you. I already am: Deut. 28: 1-13.
I elected not to haul in 40-pound pails of litter because they might be
awkward for the kennel attendants to handle. 25 pound sacks work much
better.

How very open minded of you. I know lots of parents and some
of the minority parents are better than the non minority parents.

I know some also. However, I was very specific. I specifically said ethnic
children whose alleged parents allow them to be destroyed within hours of
their being received. Are you saying that is not a prudent decision on my
part?

And for every ethnic parent who allows this i can also point out a
white parent who who is much worse.
