A simple curiosity of mine;
Every black cat I have known has been a very vocal cat - though not to
the point of being obscenely so.  Most of the other cats I've come
across generally meow, mew, murr, ect. less frequently.  Has anyone else
 known black cats to be very vocal, or am I just lucky?

Could be he has some Siamese in him.  They are very vocal.  I read
where breeders crossbreed some siamese with black cats to introduce
different genes,

    Actually it's just that black is a masking gene -- whatever
pattern the cat has genetically, it still has, but the masking gene
has turned to 'on' making the cat appear solid black.

My black cat was only vocal when there was chicken to be had.  Now my
Main coon, whoa is he ever vocal. He has a complete language with all
the different vocalizations he does.
