This is NOT the same issue as before--where she seemed to want to do #1 at
other places. Again that SEEMS to be solved--clumping litter seems to have
done the trick (as I've found clumps of #1 in there 2-3 times in the last 24
hours, and no traces of it anywhere else).
No, the thing is this--taken the advice of others, I've basically gone out
of my way to make sure it's okay, so I tend to check it out quite a bit. The
thing is, EVERY SINGLE TIME I do this, the kitty becomes curious and comes
flying from wherever in the house she may be to check out what I'm doing.
It's as if she's saying "what are you doing in MY box?"
My goodness--she can even be asleep in another room, she will wake up in a
split second and dart in the room where I'm at--totally obsessed by what I'm
doing.
Is this normal? It doesn't bother me but I'm like--man, she sure is curious,
OBSESSED even.
Tips?

What do you expect, she is a kitten! Don't worry, she will stop being so
curious once the novelty of watching you weared off.

After I scoop the pan, my cat comes to check it -- apparently wants to
know if I have been thorough in the scooping.

Sounds normal to me. I've always had at least one who has to check out the
box after it's been cleaned. Boots and Tigger have to "mark" the box within
minutes of new litter being put in it.

Both of my cats watch me intently while changing their litter pans. As if
saying to each other "I get to mark this one first!!!!!"

I got one better for ya... My female cats have issues with not burying their
poo. My male cat LOVES to bury poo. The reason for his existence is to bury
poo. (wierd cat)
All we have to do if there's a stinky one in the box is call Boo in and
point to it "Boo! Bury that!" And he gets down to work... (sure, it gets
scooped a bit later, but he doesn't have to know that)

"Yeah.. it was in Buffy's underwear drawer. She has nice things."

Very normal. One or two of mine will even sit and watch me scoop so they
can be the first to go in the clean box when I'm done.

Don't you get it?? She's small, in a stage where she wants to learn, thinks
you're her mum and comes running: "Mum, what interesting thing are you
teaching me now, oh, how life is exciting!!!"

I've got two that stand by and supervise while I scoop. In fact one gets in
the box and will try and help sometimes. Relax, it's normal and she's
curious. I'm glad you got your problem straightened out.
