Dear all,

As promised, an update on Moses who had a blocked bladder (see my post two
days ago). As you'll remember, the diagnosis was made on Friday night, and
within 2 hours the Vet had inserted a catheter, and taken some blood to
test.

We called the Vet Saturday morning and some good news, Moses was awake and
eating like a horse (first food he had eaten in nearly two days). The
catheter wasn't draining as well as they hoped (lots of mucus), but better
than it couild have been!

Another update today - Sunday - he is apparently lively and alert, spent
some time out of the pen and was nosing in to everything, eating lots and
passing solids and urine perfectly. They flushed his bladder again this
morning, and everything seems fine. So, that is good news!

We have to call again tomorrow, and it looks like he will need another two
nights at the vet just for observation, but should be returning home to us
Monday or Tuesday. His sister can't stop looking to see where he is, as they
have never been apart since birth, and my Wife and I will be so pleased to
see him again too!

Photo of the pair of them (taken 6 months ago) at
http://www.fourmiles.org.uk/cats.jpg. Moses is on the left.

Many thanks for everyones kind comments and useful information. Remember -
watch that dry food!!

David.

From what I have learned from others in this newsgroup, you should take something that has the home
cat's odor on it to transfer to him when you take him home.  (I hope you understand what I am trying
to say).  Others have reported cat fights because of foreign scents.  I am glad to hear of his good
progress,   MLB

I'm so glad David!  I didn't see your original post until a day after you
posted it, and didn't want to reply right away because I wanted to hear
how things were going.  I know how scary it is to have your little guy in
the hospital and not really know how things are going.  Best wishes to you
all, and congrats on the baby!

Dee
