Moody Cat

Hi,

I have a 2 year old cat.  He is really moody with people that visit me.
He's actually run my mom out off the house.  My poor mom isn't a cat person
and he hissed and swiped at her ankles. He is an indoor/outdoor cat loves
being outdoors as well.

With me he is as angelic as cats come.  Loves me, never growls, hisses,
swipes at me.  He never displays this behaviour in front of me or at me.  I
maybe out of the room when he does this, and I never see it.  He is just the
best cat, my first cat and I've spoiled him rotten, always rubbing me, loves
the belly rubs, gives me a million kisses.
I just don't know what gets into him when people visit me.
He is neutered.  I have 2 other cats, and they know that "Shoes" is boss.
He does fight with them occasionally but they all hold their own.  I always
stop the fights as I don't approve of the swiping, hissing, growling I know
it's a show my little guy Darcy can beat Shoes up.

Anyway if you guys have any thoughts...my girlfriend said to take him to the
vet in case he's picked up something.
This behaviour started in the winter time, and he's indoors in the winter
time. I'm not sure what to make of it.

Thanks cat experts....

Try a Feliway diffuser in the main room where people visit. If it seems to
help,  you can get some for other rooms. www.feliway.com. Vets sell them as
do big pet store chains and on the internet.
