I am a volunteer Humane Society Pres.in Louisiana...I got a report of a
poss.chocking dog on a chain. I went to help it but was arrested for
trespassing...Anyone have any documented cases of having to rescue an
animal to save its life? Louisiana would be best. Please send to

as I will not have time to come back here...

I don't have the information you want.  However, I did volunteer work some
years ago when I was on the board of directors of the local Humane Society
(East Texas).  In cases such as you described, we would contact the
sheriff's office and he or a deputy would accompany us.  It would be a good
idea to check into your state and/or local laws to see if you could set up a
similar system.
