If you can't even get out to look at a cat, how are you going to get it
to a veterinarian? What if there is an emergency in the middle of the
night? A cat is not a "thing" you should order by mail like a pair of
shoes. It is a living creature that requires a certain standard of care.

"Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one
elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and
splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then
providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision,
raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and
material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his
way."

Probably the same way that the owner would get to a doctor themselves.
"Housebound" could mean a lot of things, and pets are great company
for people who are disabled in various ways.

Like people?
I work with a rescue group in 'the colonies'. I would be happy to bring a
couple cats for you to select from after being told what you are looking
for. I would think similar groups near you would do the same.
