Creepy.  I was googling some info about Wellness and this came up in
the results.

That is totally creepy, and the weird red color made my eyes all wiggy.

It was ugly.  But did you see my old posts from here intermingled into
that mess of conversation?  There was stuff I posted about Hill's food
and Shadow and Shamrock.

Yes, I saw that.  I really couldn't figure out what was going on -- the red
background and tightly-printed black print were so hard on my eyes that I
really didn't want to try to read all of it.  But your name and Shadow and
Shamrock just seemed to jump out at me ... one of those times when we focus
on something familiar even while we ignore the rest.  In this case, it may
be *just as well* to ignore the rest!  Creepy, as you said.

Sorry, that's what I meant by the creepy part - then had to add in the
part about the color because it seriously f'd up my eyes - I had to wait
almost a minute before I could see things normally! Why on earth would
they grab those posts in particular? Do you have a stalker?? (I'm
kidding - don't barricade your door)...

lol  NO stalkers, I HOPE!!!!   I tend to agree with what Gilbert Chew
posted - I was thinking after looking at some of the other links that
someone is probably grabbing posts off of Usenet that contain "buzz
words" that we may be searching Google for.  The "webmaster" is
obviously a lazy one and relies on c&p to create web site content.
Why they would think someone would click on the link to Ebay after
seeing that red background and jumbled text is a mystery, though.  I'm
sure most of you who even looked were happy to just close the browser
window.  lol

OMG, Cheryl, that is so weird!  What's strange too is all the stuff at the
bottom of the page. There is also a link at the very bottom that takes you to
another page.

Creepy for sure and hard on the eyes - especially the fine print! Oh my!

I feed Matilda Wellness - both canned and dry. No complaints so far. :c)

I found a very very similar site that was an entire page of just my
posts, from a thread where I was feeling particularly flippant and
bull-headed, quoting the Matrix right and left, etc. Plastered across
the top and bottom was "I found the best places to buy Wellness cat food
on Ebay!" or something like that.

Creepy is an understatement.

Heehee!  Just goes to show you that Usenet posts can come back and
haunt you from anywhere.  Not just google groups.  <shudders

If you want to know who posted this Site just do a whois on godaddy as if
you were registering the site and type in peekabooty.org. or leave out the
peekabooty.org abd just type in the name and choose .org as the extension.
You can pretty much do this on any site that registers domains.

I have done that, it doesn't give much usable information.

I tried entering the name into a search of Google and Google Groups.  Some
of the search results indicate that this name is associated with various
web pages that copy content from other web sites and Usenet postings, and
link to Ebay account registration, in an attempt to generate Ebay
commissions.
Cat Protector - 12 Nov 2003 02:49 GMT
Try using godaddy. I found all the owner info there.

Perhaps I was unclear in what I did.  I already used godaddy, copied the
registered owner name from the info on the godaddy page, and pasted that
into a search of Google and Google Groups.

From where did you think I got the name of the registered owner?
Cat Protector - 13 Nov 2003 04:35 GMT
You must have done something wrong here. All I had to do was type in the
name of the domain as if I was intending to register the domain and it gave
me a link to the one it was registered to. You don't need a Google search to
find out who a site is registered to.

Your reply indicates a complete lack of understanding of what I wrote. I
did not have a problem with finding the name of the registered owner from
the Godaddy site.

Hmm, I don't understand why you are not comprehending what I previously
wrote:

"I already used godaddy, copied the

That is, yes, I did type in the name of the domain, and I did find out
the name of the person to whom it was registered from Godaddy.  What
other possible interpretation of "copied the registered owner name from
the info on the godaddy page" is there?

The reason for the Google search is to find out MORE information on the
registered owner than is shown on the Godaddy web site.  Such as what
other people had previously found out about the web page owner.  To
reiterate: The Goddady page only lists name and contact information,
nothing else. I did NOT use Google to find the name of the owner, I used
Google to learn any information (other than simple contact information)
other people had already dug up about the owner.

To anyone besides Cat Protector still reading: Is there something
particularly confusing about what I wrote?

I noticed that too.  The email address was bogus.  I haven't tried it
in Visual Route though.

Looks to me like some kind of harvester. I noticed Gallant in there too.

teeth with a nail....

Well, Cheryl, I have seen some weird stuff on the net - this one about
takes the cake.  Precisely why I'm becoming more and more selelctive
about what personal info I put on the net.
