Chinese evergreen can cause irritation according to
http://envhort.ucdavis.edu/ce/king/PoisPlant/Tox-SCI.htm
The berries can be poisonous according to
http://www.helsinki.fi/~unummela/poisonousplants.htm
Several other sites listed it as a not-great thing for cats that like to
chew on plants.
I would not have it in my house with my cats. Actually, I don't have any
live plants in my house except for cactus. :)

What would happen if a kitten got a nibble or two in?
