Hello there,
About 1.5 years ago, our 10 year old Bombay had been doing some nasty
reverse coughing. The doc said it either a bronchial infection or
asthma, but most likely a bronchial infection, especially after what he
saw on x-rays. She was put on Baytril and I was giving injections for 10
weeks. Her cough got much better and for a time totally disappeared. It
has come back.

Then the vet gave her a steroid injection and that seems to have stopped
her cough but she's become lethargic. Not depressed, but not really
wanting to play like she did. I should add that in the past year, every
time she did try to play/run hard she had to stop and cough so she could
be hesitant to start that again.

Anyway, is there a chance that the injection could have made her more
lethargic? Rather than sick (she's eating, drinking, and eliminating)
she's acting more "blah", like she wants the dog days of summer to go
away!

Thanks for your help and insight!

Paula

Yeah, I think it could cause her to be lethargic for a bit. it does
sound rather like asthma. Could you check into Flovent for next time?

Paula, my cat has regular steroid shots and she is not more
lethargic from it. She gets Cortizone, I think. Did you say you had
a chest xray?
