Hello, all!

I have a cat four years old with itchy skin. He goes to the
vet regularly and gets cortisol shots for allergies. But his
skin is still itchy, mostly the part in the place in front of his
ears where the fur is thin. He has little bumps there that he scratches
until they bleed. The vet just says "he has itchy skin."

But I hate to see him suffer. I have some "anti-itch" cream, generic
brand, ingredients "diphenhydramine hydrochloride 2% and Zinc acetate
o.1%." Would it be safe to gently rub just a little onto the bumps in front
of his ears, to stop the itching? He goes to the vet end of month and
I will ask there too but wanted any input here. Thank you.

I wouldn't. Can you find a vet dermatologist near you?
