My cats have been a handful lately. Some may remember Reggie's eye
problem -- it went away for a while but is back, thankfully we have an
opthamologist in town and when they come back from vacation next week
he'll see Reggie. So I'm optimistic about that.
The other big problem was Simon. He started getting really jumpy and
aggressive several months ago when everything got disrupted when my mom
was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We ended up taking mom's cat which
didn't help matters. It escalated into nasty alley-cat screaming
fights. I tried Rescue Remedy and isolating the cats and lots of stuff,
but nothing worked. I finally started using Feliway diffusers that
several of you suggested.
So far it's worked really well! We haven't had a single bad fight and
Simon's only hissed twice, both times very noncommittally. I also
bought some new stuff for the cats to give them more cat-only spaces --
new cat tree, a couple of throws, and a wicker sleepy spot -- but they
haven't cottoned to any of that yet. The Feliway seems to be the
biggest help. Thanks!

Glad it worked for you. I have recommended it quite a few times with
about an 80% success rate.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. I know it can't help to have added
pressures like kats fighting at a time like this . One surefire cure
would be to get a aggressive little dog, like one of the Yorkies that
we have. That will give your kats a whole new thing to deal with, and I
mean like 24 hours a day and starting right now! It's like in the movie
Major Payne where the kid is crying because he'z so tired and blistered
from all that drill instruction krap. And Major Payne (Damon Wayans)
grabs his finger and says... "Do you want me to give you a little
something to take your mind off of it"? He then promptly dislocates the
kid'z finger at the knuckle! Same thing here... Well, it'z the same
principle anyway. Try it. It WILL work! I guarantee it! Our Chester has
never been.... busier!
