I was surfing the net and interested in holistic medicine. Came across
a product that holistic vets seem to recommend a lot, called Renafood,
by Standard Process. It's for cats with renal disease (my older cat has
early CRF, and I'm trying to find everything I can to help him).

But in reading the ingredients, it says each pill contains 2.4 mg of
phosphorous.

WTH? I thought phosphorous is the devil when it comes to renal problems.

I'm confused.

p.s. There's also a product called 6 Chinese Teas or something like
that. Anyone ever use that?

There's a lot of conflicting info out there, and it's hard to know
what's right.

Do your research. Talk to a vet.  I have taken my senior cat to a holistic
vet. She was dying from a hyperthyroid. The hepatrophin by Standard Process
prescribed for her liver has served her well.  She also takes Female Support
1030 by BestForYourPet and then of course the methimazole medication. I will
give her Azmira Detox I get from a little place in canada but only for a week
at a time every now and then.  She's 20 now and holding up well.
Talk to your vet very carefully. Some don't get involved with the holsitic
stuff.  Mine had bad help and got a little far out and  carried away with the
dollar squeezing so I stopped using him.  However, he did save my cat's life
at the time.  It's been almost six years and I'm very happy with her health
and maintain her routine because of it.
I don't know a thing about phosporous. Proceed with caution.
