Okay, I'm on one of my posting binges here, so here's the last of the
night.
Our local Humane Society had an outbreak of feline distemper, and it
killed a lot of their kitties. The newspapers reported it, and folks
leapt into action and adopted tons of the shelter's kitties to
preserve them from this horrible death.
Thought you all might like to see this. Though we may get jaded on how
poorly folks seem to treat companion animals, this is a good story of
how people can in fact be mobilized for the good of these wonderful
critters.

I'm a little disturbed that a shelter in St. Paul doesn't vaccinate incoming
cats against panleuk. Hopefully this kind of tragedy will change that, to
prevent the same from happening in the future.
