Please don't invite a return to the type of mail we were inundated with
until very recently.  Frankly, the situation had gotten so bad in h+b (and
in anecdotes, to a lesser extent) that I was about to drop out of both
groups.  I read this newsgroup to learn about cats -- not to go through
untold numbers of posts that harangue, belittle other readers, and resort to
all sorts of foul-mouthed insults.  If someone has a question or problem
about cats, this is the place to post.  Hopefully, some of us will have some
help to offer.  If the number of posts drops off for awhile because no one
has a question at the time, then so be it.  Why make up something just for
the sake of seeing it in print (which, in many cases, is simply an
egotistical obsession)?  I suspect that there are others out there who --
like me -- were close to giving up on the group, and there may be some who
left for the reasons I mentioned but who may return if this group could
simply focus on *cats.*
