Little dots could mean a urinary tract infection. This is uncomfortable,
dangerous for a male cat and usually very easy to cure with some simple
medicine over the course of a little more than a week. See your vet.
Good luck,
Barb
Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.
Hi Barb,
I think this is a possibility and it is defenitely worth checking with
the vet.
But, on the other hand, this not has been happening on a frequent
basis. In fact, this only happened twice, about 1.5 months apart, right
after I cleaned the carpet with the smelly product. I think the two
events are connected. It did look to me that he was upset about the
smell and just spraying the areas to make it smell better (like
himself).

I think you've answered your own question. Stop using the carpet
shampoo you're using and try something less smelly/toxic. Don't forget
that kitties live on the floor and are *very* sensitive to substances
that we put on them. Stuff that ends up on their feet ends up in their
tummies. We stopped wearing shoes in our house (because they track in
heavy metals and other pollutants) and stopped using petroleum products
as cleaners when we started keeping cats 15 years ago. The only
commercial product I use on my carpets is "Nature's Miracle," an enzyme
cleaner that is just *great* for cleaning up pet messes like vomit, pee
and such. You might try hunting something like this down for your
carpets. Good luck!

Hi Dragon,
Yes, that's what I think. I guess this was my last try of the "smelly"
product. I was wondering if someone know of any carpet cleaner (not
spot, but shampoo type) that is safe (like Nature's miracle that I
already have).
Thanks for the help.
