I had him to the vet yesterday.  He got a shot of cortisone and a
bottle of Linconsin Aquadrops, two 1ml droppers twice a day.

He's already getting better, but he took a pretty good chunk of meat
out of my wrist on the second dropper this morning.  I wonder if I
could put him in a nylon duffle bag and zip it so only his head sticks
out.  Anyone tried something like that?

I wrap my cat in a towel with only her head sticking out for her meds.
We call it burrito wrapping (cuz we're in AZ) and she, therefore, is a
furrito at the time.

You can try it but he might fight you as you try to get him in the bag.
Sometimes just having him in your lap and then putting the towel down
flat next to you, popping him in it, and wrapping real fast works.

Poor thing. I've never tried the duffle-bag thing; I usually wrap a
towel around them. If his claws won't go through the nylon, and it's
the only way to get his medicine down him, I don't see anything wrong
with it. He's got to take the medicine. Is there anyone to help you?
Medicating a cat is sure a two-man job around here.
Speaking of containing cats, I remember as a kid my cat got a fish hook
in its lip. My grandfather stuck the cat down in one of his huge, tall
cowboy boots, and instructed me to hold the boot closed while he
removed the hook. Hurts me now to think about it!

Try wrapping him in a towel, when you open his mouth hold your hand under
his chin and open his jaw towards the back by pulling down slightly with
your thumb and index finger, one on either side of his jaw.  Then drop the
drops down his mouth,  I then stroke his chin while blowing lightly in his
face.  I like placing the cat between my knees as support for him while I
kneel on the floor.  This method works great for the cats I pill or give
drops too.  Not just my cats, but I give meds to my friends cats if they are
having problems.

I would think if you put him in a duffle bag or something similar he'd be
able to squirm too much.

I tried Trish's technique with pilling, and my cat, woo!

He gave me a look, and started showing his teeth and growling.
I mean, he was going to bite me hard if I continued. He never does
that.
I knew he meant business.

I crushed the pill up into a very fine powder, I put the powder in the
palm of my hand, I pinched the powder up with my thumb and index
finger.

I went over to him, he was chill, everything was cool. In one smooth
move, I was able to load his tongue with the powder. Just a little snap
of the fingers and it was in. I knew I would only get a couple of
chances before he bit me, he had to take his pill. I didn't want him
spitting it out.

lol funny how I never get that reaction... lol I'm picturing the cat's face
and laughing so hard.  Maybe I should have added I've been pilling cats
since I was 16, so I've perfected my technique.  lol

I'd check with my vet before giving the crushed pills.  Some medications are
meant to be time-released in their systems (as with human meds).
