Koko was seen by the reg vet on tuesday ( monday they were full)
they are totally stumped by potential herpes virus, recommended
opthamologist....
$30 for office visit......
vet opthamologist ($239) said probable feline virus, 90% of florida
cats have it......
will treat as feline herpes , based on her response to treatment, tests
and other medications to follow.....
here are her meds listed for the next 2 weeks, then another checkup.
idoxyuridine -1 drop 4 times daily both eyes ($55)
enrofloxcin -1 drop 2 times daily both eyes
interferon oral - 0.1 ml daily orally ($40)
acyclovir oral 1.25 ml daily
the 2 meds i listed the $ on - if she does HAVE herpes virus - she will
most likely be on for life.
Hopefully, that will be all of the meds that she will have to be on
forever,
and hopefully, this will lengthen the time between her 'flare-ups' to
more than 4-6 weeks.
She is the most lovable, TOLERANT, sweet kitty you could imagine, and
her coat is as soft as silk.
She sure has had a tough life too, being so sick , so often.... she is
only 1yr 3 months old.
some pics of her bad eye are up on our site,
http://www.richandlaurie.com/gallery/
our animals, then the shadow, gabby, koko folder.
in a few days, i promise, i will put up some more kady/koko pics.......

I know a gal in Australia (Hi Flippy!) and it sounds quite a bit like
Tiffy's problem. I know that her med routine seems to have helped a LOT.
Good luck to Koko. Keep us posted.
